It is easier to use a lock that is keyless especially in cold weather. This way, you don't have to insert your key into the lock, and this can stop damage from dust or ice on the lock mechanism. Both imported and domestic vehicles are increasingly using these systems. A push button starts the engine, and turns on other electronic features like the radio. You can also switch on the air conditioning by pressing a button. A second time will turn off the car's electrical functions and pressing the button by placing your foot on the brake will stop the engine.
However many drivers fail to put their vehicle in "park" before exiting, and this has resulted in some injuries. Fortunately, the majority of systems have protections against this issue.
